Time for a Reset! Well, Kind of!

Tonight, I'm eight days from the start of the new term, which is wicked exciting, but where did the time go and what did I even do??? Well I can't really answer that right now, but I sure can tell you what I did today! :)

I spent most of the morning chilling out, and watching Pixar movies, including A Bug's Life, and a bunch of Pixar shorts before realizing that I should probably do something today. So I decided to tackle the one thing that I've been putting off like crazy, cleaning my room. I know I know, I totally just made it sound like the end of the world, just kidding! I didn't really manage to hang my clothes back up when H moved in, so I figured it's about time to get that done, since I know I'm not going to want to do it once the term starts. To the left is what my room looked like to the right of my bed. Just a little bit insane, I will also openly admit there was a bunch of stuff crammed in my closet that I promised myself to also clean out today. So while Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were playing I put a huge load of laundry in the wash, and started going through things. I put a few more things in my space cubeeeeee which I love even though the vacuum tried to destroy it earlier. Now for more pictures to show you how well it came along.

And then I got hungry and tried a Peanut Butter Cookie Larabar, and it really wasn't for me. Which was kind of sad, but I'm glad I tried it at home rather than at school and didn't have anything extra to eat. Then I continued...

This is what my pile looks like now, which makes me pleased. I'm done for tonight since I'm trying to transition into an earlier bed time and by earlier I mean 9 or 10pm. I'm going to stay up until 11pm tonight, so that I can hang up the clothes that are currently in the dryer...which stopped literally as I typed that. Yeah, I'm going to go grab that all right now..... Yes mom, I did just stop blogging to go put away my laundry. I know I know, you're so proud. :P Anyways. My school schedule will actually be pretty nice, and I'll have plenty of time to train and I don't think I'll have a problem with masters in the morning before school, which makes me really happy. I'm lucky to always have Friday's off, which means I can get my errands and homework done then, and then have the weekend to be, well, a weekend, and of course do my long training days.

Thursday -

Sounds like a super exciting schedule doesn't it?? I don't know what I'm going to do to kill time until my 11am start on Monday's and Wednesday's since I'll already be up from masters, but maybe I'll actually do homework, wow that would be awesome. I'm hoping to be able to bike to school at least a few days a week, and it'll probably happen on Monday's and Wednesday's since I won't need to bring all my drafting stuff to school. Trust me, that stuff is not easy to bike with! Maybe by December I'll be biking the whole time, which would be awesome. Wow, I just realized how long this post got, haha. So here's the plan for tomorrow. Complete cleaning of my room, get groceries, and read!

This is my new nightstand, which I actually really love to use as a nightstand. I've got my Propel Zero in the cube with the pink BlenderBottle, some sweat towels under my bike helmet, the pink bin is full of stuff that doesn't need to be on my nightstand but needs to be close, the one to the right of that is my books I will use for school this term (only the ones with the spines showing), the cube above that has my books to be read along with my protein powder, and then finally where I put my laptop at night for easy putting away and grabbing. I really really like this set up, and I'm glad I snagged this at Target while it was still ten bucks on sale. :P One final picture for you all, and a question for those of you with bikes and trainers that you use!

This is where I want to put my setup, the space is 44 inches wide, from bed to wall, then about 77 inches long, from nightstand to near the desk (while still being completely useable). Will a bike and trainer set up work in a space that size? I'm going to have the nightstand up a bit higher so that I can fit the trainer legs kind of under it. Anyways, let me know if it will or not!

BlenderBottle Product Review!

I'm really excited to bring you my very first product review! So here goes...

My lovely pink 20oz BlenderBottle!
This is one of my favorite products that I've found in a while, and I use at least once a day, not kidding. During school I use my 28 ounce for water during classes because it does not leak, which is always a problem when you're around lots of art. Spilt bottle/container of liquid + ruined art = a very unhappy classmate or you end up very unhappy because you just ruined your own art. Currently I'm using two in the morning, one for an easy breakfast shake right after I wake up, and one for a protein shake after Masters practice. I've never had a problem mixing up protein powders and still having clumps which makes me super happy. I don't think I've ever been a big breakfast eater, so I would drink Carnation Breakfast shake and stirring those things with a spoon does nothing for getting it all mixed together, but the BlenderBottle saves the day. The part of the Blender Bottle that makes it work so well is called a BlenderBall, and it works just like a whisk and it's incredible! It works amazingly well to mix up just about anything you can think to put in it, though I'm not sure solid things would mix well, just saying.
Pink is breakfast, and green is for after Masters practice!

BlenderBottle's can be used to mix up things like batters for pancakes, dressings for salads, they can also whisk up eggs for a super quick and tasty omelet! They even have some awesome recipes on their website, which I think is super cool! Though I have to say next to the amazing blending ability of these shaker cups, my favorite thing about them is all the different colors they come in! I know, I know, but I'm a girl. :) BlenderBottle comes in two sizes, a 20-ounce and a 28-ounce, and both of them come in Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Black! I think you can probably figure out for yourself which colors I will be hoarding. :)

The collection so far...
I really really love my BlenderBottle's and can't imagine not using them after having found them!

Disclaimer: I purchased BlenderBottles on my own and thought they were awesome enough to share with you. Opinions stated are that of my own. But I wouldn't mind expanding my collection. ;)

Practice with US Master Team? CHECK!

So this morning was my first practice with the Ford Aquatics Master Swim Team, which was SUPER awesome. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming to me, which probably happened because I looked like a lost little puppy when I walked in the locker room. It was such a great morning, and even though my lungs felt like they were on fire the whole time, I had fun, and I finished the yards. That was what mattered to me the most. I think the most magical part of the morning was getting to watch the sun rise as we swam. I kept getting encouraged that I wouldn't feel like I'm dying in two weeks time, and honestly, I don't really care about that. I had fun, and a lot of it. I can't wait to go back in the morning. :)

After practice I wandered around UofA campus since it was their first day back at school. It was fun to see everyone actually awake looking. I'm pretty sure it won't be like that in a few weeks time. Since it was still really early it was fun to see a bunch of people out running. When I got home I worked on organizing my room which still has some work to go, but I'll tackle that tomorrow morning. For now? I'm off to bed, since I didn't sleep very well last night. Practice again in the morning and I can't wait.

Quick Check In!

This week I've been having issues with my internet not working which should be solved tomorrow when I get a new router in the mail. So I'm hoping to be back up by this time tomorrow!

Tomorrow morning I will be attending my first trial practice with the Ford Aquatic Masters Team. Which I'm very excited for, I'll tell you all about it once I've got the new router all set up!

New Roommate!

So H is mostly moved in now. The past two days have been really fun getting her moved in and getting more things fixed up in the apartment.

Things are still a little crazy around here for now, so I'll give a full update tomorrow when I've got time to think about what I want to write, but I'm not sure about that just yet. :)

Until next time,

Back to Training!

So tomorrow morning I will be running again, and hoping that my foot cooperates with me so that I can get some miles in. Today was fairly good. I got a bunch of cleaning done in preparation for H's arrival on Wednesday, and got a few more chapters of my book down. The internet is still being cranky, so I'm hoping that it's fixed soon since it's really obnoxious, and of course it stops working while I'm busy writing my post, figures.

I'm really excited to test out the Ford Masters Aquatic team next week, and I know it's going to kick my ass, but I'm still excited to get back into the pool! I don't know that I'm excited to get up that early, but it will totally be worth it to be able to finish everything, fitness related, before 9am or so.

Anyways, I'm off to bed after this movie is over.

Until next time,

Two Months.

Today marks two months since my birthday, and I feel like I'm letting myself down on the goals that I had made to reach for my birthday. I'm letting things that shouldn't bother me get to me, and my confidence seems to disappear at the drop of a hat. I really hate it, and I mean really hate it. I've got a lot going for me so why should I let little things rattle me so much? I need to become a more confident person, and I'm determined to get there. Maybe it'll come to me when I finish my first triathlon, or half marathon, but I'm going to get there, because I deserve to be confident young woman.

On a side note, I'm really disappointed with the internet at my apartment complex right now because it will not stop crapping out on me! I really hope that it gets fixed soon because this is obnoxious.

Anyways, I'm excited to announce that Nugget Monkey will be on it's way when they are shipped out from Jellycat in about two weeks time. So start suggesting names. I'm thinking I want monkey to have an M name, so get thinking!

I have no idea what I'm going to eat for dinner, but I'm thinking a mixed veggie bowl with some grilled chicken, but that could always change. I'm currently watching the season premiere of the Great Food Truck Race on Food Network, and I'm actually really excited about it, last year it was a really good, and so far it seems pretty good.

H arrives on Tuesday and will be moving in on Wednesday and I'm actually really excited about it. She seems really cool, and it'll be fun to have someone around.

I'm hoping to get back to running on Tuesday morning, my toe is doing better, and I'm doing everything that I'm supposed to for it to heal properly, so I'm just hoping for minimal pain while running. I may start doing some yoga and strength training to help occupy my time during break, since I want to incorporate those into my training anyways, so the next book on my docket is the Strength Training for Triathletes. I'm thinking that I still want to do Tinfoilman at the end of October since there will always be things that want to stop me from doing what I want to do, but I can't let those things stop me. I think I could still pretty easily complete it, I just need to get back in the pool quickly. For now I'm going to go back to watching my show, and then go read my book.

Until next time,

Now What? and Contest Results!

After catching up on sleep, and being done with finals. I always spend the first day being kind of like "now what am I supposed to do?" Well at least I have a plan this time. I'm going to conquer my pile of books that are just calling my name. I'm almost half way through Racing Weight, and I really like how much useful information it has. I can't wait to get into the rest of these as they seem like really good reads. Other happenings for this next month? Quite a few reviews, interviews of LRT crew members, and trying to get back to running and swimming as soon as I can. I'm also going to try and finish up all my fixing up projects soon, since it's been kind of bothering me that I don't have them done yet. So on the works is finishing the bike rack, creating a chalkboard for the kitchen and trying to come up with a way to decorate my bedroom door without damaging it, I may end up throwing that idea out, but it hasn't been decided yet.

I'd like to welcome the new followers too! It's always a nice little ego boost to see that number go up!

The blog mascot contest has officially ended, and here's what the final numbers looked like.

You guys were ALL over the Nugget Monkey, so he is now the official blog mascot! The collection will be released soon, so I will shortly have him/her in my possession and after that Monkey Mondays will begin.

In other news, H will be arriving on Tuesday and moving in on Wednesday and I'm pretty excited about it. So things are going to get busy around here. I'm also going to give you fair warning that more updates may be coming during break, in addition to the daily update. Most of those will be reviews, so you can ignore them if you want.

I'm off to go start reading.

Until next time,

Monkey Monday and Finals (EEK!)

I'm thinking that this will be the title of my new Monday posts since it seems as though you are ALL loving the Nugget monkey to death. When the contest ends I'll start a naming contest as well, so you should check back for that next week. In other contest/giveaway news. I'm going to do a giveaway when I hit 100 followers, so all you bloggies out there, help me out and you'll get some bonus goodies. :)

Final #1
Today hasn't been anything out of the ordinary, class and all that, however I did swim some laps in the pool this morning, and am going to quickly try to figure out how long that pool is so that I can accurately count my laps for distance. I picked out the two images that I want to draw for my final (the best of the two will be graded) in my introduction to drawing class, which I'm actually very excited about. It'll be interesting to see how they turn out, and of course I will post pictures. I'm thinking that I want to start cooking more for myself when I'm going to be at school. I checked out what my schedule looks like for the fall, and I've got classes during the day Monday through Thursday, and I'm quite excited about it, although I know that food will be a problem again so I'll probably be testing out cooking something and then taking it with me. My classes start later in the morning so I'll easily be able to get my runs in and I'm not let out late enough that it will interfere with sleep. So I'm pretty stoked for fall to come.

Final #2
I am still looking forward to having a break because we all need breaks once in a while, and I plan on using mine to train for the Tinfoilman Triathlon, get some good reading done, and test out recipes that I want to add to my collection. So again, if you have anything that you think I ABSOLUTELY have to try, let me know. Leave a comment, tweet me, or shoot me an email!

In case any of you are wondering, I'm really loving Racing Weight by Matt Fitzgerald, it's got a lot of great tips, and plan to reread it with a highlighter, pen and tabs handy to make sure I don't miss anything.

So until next time,

Going to the Dark Side.

I'm sure quite a few of you are going to be pleased with this post. Specifically Molly, BDD, and a few others. On October 30th, I will officially join the dark side. For those of you who don't know what the dark side is, it's the world of triathlon. That's right, I've officially gone crazy, doing a triathlon before running so much as a half marathon? Yeah, crazy, but that's okay because most of the cool kids are.

2009 Medal
The race that I'm doing is called the Tinfoilman and it's a fairly short triathlon, with a 825 yard swim, 12 mile bike ride, and then a 3 mile run. Short, but it should thoroughly kick my ass, which I'm probably going to enjoy. For the past few weeks, I've been able to continually kick myself out of bed when the alarm goes off and get out for my run, but I still don't really feel like I'm training, so having something coming up soon will make me feel more like I'm training, than just running. It should also give me a pretty good excuse not to sit on my ass too much during my break. During my month break I'm also going to get cracking on my huge pile of books/magazines to read and to be quite honest. I am WICKED excited for all of this. Three months before my birthday when I made myself the promise that I would be a changed person by my birthday. I would have told you that you're insane if you had said to me I would be doing a triathlon in October and a half marathon in January. But right now I'm feeling like I fit in pretty good with all the other crazies that do that little race called Ironman.

So pretty soon, I'm going to be off to bed for the night to make sure I get my butt out of bed and get a good swim in before I have to do all my normal Monday festivities. Maybe I'll even make it a swim and bike morning, depending on how early I get up. I think I'm starting to turn into one of those people who can't sit for too long and that may be a good thing with all the awesome things that I want to do.

What do you all think, am I really that crazy?

Until next time,

Run hard, be strong, and always think big!

Catching Up.

So I'm now going to promise you guys that I won't ditch you again, because I didn't have much fun not posting.

Things have been a little crazy around here with turn, and the end of the term all coming at once. I'm really excited about having a break from school because I've got a lot to do, including lots of reading! I've had tons of fun soaking my feet these past two weeks, and usually I'm getting barked at by her royal highness while I'm doing it, or she does something like in the photo and doesn't want me to touch her. I'm able to run pretty much how I was able to before, and I'm really trying to focus on my form since my mileage is still pretty low and I can actually spend the time focusing on it. I think I'm doing better, but I'm going to give it to next week to decide if I'm doing better.

So I've been able to score quite a few awesome things from people who have moved out and left things here, which I myself don't understand since I won't be leaving anything of mine here when I move out I can tell you that much. So here they are, in order of finding.

Very blurry, but pretty much perfect couch.
Giant LED screen, turned into a pretty cool clock.
Set of drawers I'm using for my fitness stuff for now.
Not pictured, new cruiser bike that's exactly like mine. I still have a hard time figuring out why people leave some of this stuff, but I guess it's okay because I'm giving it homes now. :)

Over break I'm going to attempt to tackle this lovely stack of reading material, which includes thirteen magazines, and four books. I've got about a month long break so I'm pretty sure that I can finish it off and if not make a fairly decent dent, and I'm actually really looking forward to reading most of these. I'm already pretty far into Racing Weight and am finding all of the information really awesome, and things that I wouldn't have known otherwise. I've got a few other projects going on around here that I'm going to keep under wraps until they're finished and I can show off my handy work.

Don't forget about my contest that ends on the 13th! You've still got time to pick out the monkey mascot for Let's Rock This! So find your way over to my giveaways page and cast your vote!

Until next time,
